EG Ampol Fuel Prices in Australia
EG Ampol is one of Australia's largest fuel and convenience retail networks, operating over 650 service stations across the country. The brand represents a partnership between EG Australia (part of the UK-based EG Group) and Ampol, combining international retail expertise with Australia's leading fuel supplier.
EG Group entered the Australian market in April 2019 when it acquired the former Woolworths petrol network for $1.72 billion. This transaction transformed EG into a major player in Australian fuel retail, with stations located predominantly in metropolitan areas and high-traffic locations.
In August 2025, Ampol announced an agreement to acquire EG Australia for $1.1 billion, with the deal expected to complete in mid-2026 subject to ACCC approval. This acquisition would consolidate Ampol's position as the dominant fuel retailer in Australia.
